Happy 15th anniversary, deviantArt! It seems that this site began in 2000... man, that's pretty far back. I was 5 years old at that time! xD (No, I haven't been on dA since 5. I didn't even know what an Internet was back then!)

Anyway, to celebrate this anniversary, deviantArt has given us a questionnaire. I shall now go forth and answer it! :D

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
The site says I've been here for 6 years, since November 2008, but I didn't really start using the site until July 2011. So I've been around for 6 years, and actually active for at least 4 of them!

  2. What does your username mean?
It's quite simply a port-manteau of "Artful" and "Deadly Rooms of Death". The latter is a game that I've mentioned a couple of times before, but is basically my favourite series ever and I've been playing it for over 10 years now. It's sadly not very well known, however...

  3. Describe yourself in three words.
Friendly, incredibly shy, and procrastination. Far more procrastination than I'd like. ._.

  4. Are you left or right handed?
    Right-handed.

  5. What was your first deviation?
The only thing I've ever put into the scraps folder! :P All the way from 2008, here's "Enter The Smilies"!
    Enter The Smilies by ArtfulRoomsOfDeath
The characters involved are the "Smilies" from a comic series I was doodling up a lot at the time: "A Smiley's Life". It was basically a slice-of-life comic starring two smiley faces (who are pretty hard to tell apart one from another). I was planning to carry the series to the digital realm, but never got around to it. This was the only piece of art on my gallery for almost 3 years, until I began posting Wanderers of the Mushroom Kingdom.

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
Comics, obviously! I love telling stories, and comics add the visual aspect that helps carry a vision more easily. It also helps a lot with timing in my opinion, since you don't really need to spend as much time pontificating over scenery descriptions, since you can just show them to the viewer. An image really is worth a thousand words! xP That said, the problem sometimes becomes that my vision becomes far too greater than my rather mediocre abilities as an artist, which becomes problematic...

Aside from that, I love making stupid randumb doodles. I start with a shape, and add more shapes until I've created a completely absurd and surrealistic scene. I should upload them perhaps someday...

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Cartoon styles obviously! They're less grounded in reality, so they can go far. Of course, I'm already focused on those, but I'm nowhere close to having mastered it, so if I could master it instantly that would be lovely! xD

  8. What was your first favourite?
    Lil' Minecraft Monsters by ghostfire
    AREN'T THEY JUST SO CUUUUUUUUUUUTE

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
I don't really prefer a specific type of art. If I enjoy it, I'll favourite it. That said, I gravitate mostly towards fan art. xD

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
:iconkiibie: No question about it! Her usual art style is simply lovely, and she's even amazing at making cartoony chibi art. I'M SO JELLY :P

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I already know a fair amount of the deviants in my circle in real life, thanks to my school's comic club. :P And besides, if I met any of the other artists I really enjoy IRL, I would probably just feel nervous and make a fool of myself... so I'll just stay behind my computer screen!

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
I'd give a shout-out to :iconit-itches:, as he was one of the first few people I didn't know from real life who frequently commented on my Wanderers of the Mushroom Kingdom pages. It helped me to know there were people out there on the Internet that could enjoy the stuff I posted, and that knowledge helped me get myself to work more on it. Sadly, WotMK is on a bit of a hiatus at the moment, which kind of undermines all this, but I don't plan on giving up quite just yet!

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
I started using a tablet about 2 years ago, and I've been loving it ever since! I guess I sometimes do paper & pen doodles, but it lacks undo, copy & pasting, and perfect erasing. 0/10 worst drawing mode ever

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
It tends to be at home, or at school at the comic club. I have been known to doodle in classes sometimes as well... shh don't tell anyone!

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Basically every time I have a drawing that garners a lot of attention. xD Yeah, I'm a bit of an attention seeker, but in a way favourites and comments really help me feel like my work matters to people. I think my favourite such moment would have to be when my Pokémon Nuzlocke took off and earned me loads of watchers. I felt like I had struck true gold, and it really helped me get motivated to draw more. Again, the comic's stuck in a hiatus, but I hope to get out of it someday!

And that's all the questions answered! Happy 15th, deviantArt! May we have another 15 years! :D

As for updates, I did a small amount of sketching for Page 9 of the Nuzlocke. Small steps! Hopefully we'll get there someday! School starts again in about 2 weeks, so I guess maybe it will help the creative juices, or not. That will remain to be seen. My drawing initiative will continue, as it's helping me a lot with getting me in a drawing mood. That said, I'm thinking of doing more art focused on my comics, so I can get back into the spirit of working on them at some point this century... xD

Anyway, I'll see you all later. Have a nice one!
